Is it possible? Post Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:48 pm
My original plan was to take the GMAT in the summer of 2012 and then apply to an MBA program to get in the Fall of 2013, well like all things my plans have changed, the good thing is that the school has not. My only option is USC MBA be it either full time or part time. I want to get into SC this next coming Fall and I take the GMAT on Dec 17th, but my practice test scores are 450s but I have only been studying for a week. I have 5 years military experience in the Marine Corps and I have 3 years experience in public accounting in one of the Big 4 accounting firms. My GPA prior to the Marines is killing me because is makes my 3.1 after the Marines average out to a 2.65. My fear is that my GMAT will not be in the range and all this stress will be for nothing. I have searched the forum but I have not really found too many people in this situation, most people have more than one school they want to go to. So does anyone think its possible to get in with a low overall GPA and low GMAT with my work experience?

Well since you know exactly where you want to go, you apply there no matter what your score is. Being a veteran will help of course,a s will your work experience. But also - let them now that you are ONLY applying there, and that it's the ONLY place you will go to. It makes a difference.

Thank you for your response, also would it be better to wait and apply to the third round or just try for the second round?
