    Is there a difference when the GMAT talks about an integer in one problem and number in another problem?

    Integers are formed by the natural numbers (including 0) (0, 1, 2, 3, ...) together with the negatives of the non-zero natural numbers (-1, -2, -3, ...).

    Numbers include integers as well fractions.

    If the problem doesn't say integer then you can't assume its an integer. But if the questions asks for all even multiples of 5 between..., then you know there going to be integers. You have to watch out more on data sufficiency; I think thats where they'll try to trap you more by assuming they mean an integer when they don't specify it.

    Integers include whole numbers and their opposites that is negative numbers and Numbers include integers and fractions as well.
