INSEAD vs. IESE - Need help! Post Mon May 23, 2011 4:29 pm
Hello everyone!
This could sound like an odd question to some of you; but I am on the edge of making a tough decision.

I just got accepted to IESE and INSEAD. Those were the only European MBAs that I have applied to, and I wasn't expecting to get admitted either of them.
Right now, I am working in USA, working on a subject that I like in energy sector.

When it comes down to choosing one of them, I am absolutely struggling.
I know both schools are great. But sincerely, despite all these research before and after applying, I am in fact not clear about the superiorities of the two schools over eachother.

It's not just
- Barcelona vs. Fontainebleau/Singapour
- 2 year vs. 1 year
- 70,700 EUR vs. 56,000 EUR
- International vs. International

I'm not sure how to decide, what to look at?
Given that one school is one year, the other is two years, the school environment seems to be really different.

Any advice at this point is totally appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Given that both are awesome schools, the factors helping you choose shoud now be personal.

For e.g., you want to spend 56k or 70k.

You prefer a 1 yr program (Is this with no internship) or a 2 year program.

Both are great schools and I envy your position. Smile

Depends what your goals are after MBA. If your goal is to get into consulting well nothing beats Insead. (45%) of class end up in consulting firm.

Personally I like INSEAD's brand name (recognized all over the world).

Hi,
Did you make up your mind in the end? I am also considering between the two. If so, why did you choose that school?
Thanks,

Hey I did.
I am going to INSEAD.
Both are great schools, but I had to chose the one-year program which is financially more feasible for me.
Additionally, I was unable to go to September intake at IESE due to logistical problems; my INSEAD MBA program starts in January.
What I hear from my friends who are starting IESE right now is that Barcelona is a great place to live. But job opportunities are not so great. I am going to Singapore campus -I have never been in SE Asia- which was another factor in my decision.
Good luck to you!

Congratulations! I'm very happy to hear it.

If I get accepted at IESE and then want to droup in September (for personal reasons) what happens? Do I have to pay anything other than the confirmation fee (15.000 euros)?
