-ing form + Possessive noun

Hi All,

The -ing form can be used with possessive noun in GMAT ?

Ex: Organism's trying to metabolize.

its clearly stated in og as awkard

"organism's attempt" is better in that question

i hvnt seen this possessive + ing on any other question.

You will not see this construction on the GMAT. It is possible to use the format correctly, however it is extremely confusing.

The OA to SC118 in the OG12 employs POSSESSIVE + VERBing:

SC118 is an exception.
In most cases, POSSESSIVE + VERBing will be considered awkward.
I would be skeptical of an answer choice that employs this construction.

There is a key difference between the usage of POSSESSIVE + VERBing in SC28 and its usage in SC120.
