How to Study

If you have a month or two to study for the GMAT, what is the best way to study? Work on each section separetly for a week at a time, or do sentence correction one day, data suffiency the next, ect?

I can get bored or scattered brained if I stay with the same topic everyday, but if that is the best way to master the material, then I want to do that.

My fear is that I will lose a lot of the info I have gained if I study sentence correction first and then dont come back to it until I have done all the other sections. Consequently, if I skip around to different sections each day, I may not become superior at a single topic if I see it once or twice a week.

Thoughts and recommendations are appreciated.

A 2 month preparation is perfectly fine to crack the GMAT.Start with the bible...the OG,of course.You can start with the quant part.The problems in the OG are relatively easy when compared to those of other materials.You can practice 75 questions of DS and PS each daily.After you are done with the quant part move on to the verbal section in OG.You should be able to complete the OG within 10 days.Now you can start working out the problems in other materials like kaplan,PR,MGMAT etc..You can start giving practice tests from the second month onwards..After every test analyze solutions,identify your weakness and try to work on them..

I do agree that some people tend to forget concepts if they haven't revised them for quite some time.So after you finish OG you can start practicing 25 questions from each section(PS,CR,SC,RC & DS) daily and make sure you time yourself.That should keep you in touch with all the sections.Best of luc!
