Topic: How to raise score from 640 to 700+

Hi...I have been preparing for GMAT since last 1 month. I score 640 in GMAT Prep test (Q48 and 29V). I shall appear for GMAT in mid-nov. Kindly suggest how can I improve my verbal score so that I can raise my score beyond 700.

Here are a few books you could use:
- for SC: the Manhattan SC guide
- for CR and RC (to a certain degree): PoweerScore CR Bible
- for advanced CR and RC practice: use LSAT sets (here are a couple of free ones) or LSAT books

A few tips from a guy who scored a 51 in verbal: link. I used this post to develop my strategy as well.

My advice: any book is good for SC and you will see improvements no matter what you use, but the SC guide is the most complete. Try to stay away from Kaplan CR, it's not like GMAT CR, so don't worry if you're having trouble with it!

Good luck!

Well, when buying the MGMAT SC guide, you get access to their online CATs, which is a great resource. You should save up GMATprep 2 for the very last weeks of your prep, so as to have an accurate predictor of your score.

I think the OG provides great practice questions - the best, since they're official stuff.
