Hi Gurus,

I desperately need your help on how to keep energy levels high during the verbal section. I took my first GMATPrep yesterday and am terribly disappointed with my score 640(48Q30V). After reviewing my answers I realized most of my answers were wrong for RC and SC. I didn't expect to do so great in RC , becoz while reading the passages nothing seemed to register or make sense. I was feeling so drained that it felt like i was reading a bunch of words..and my brains linking ability was shutdown. For sentence correction I even made mistakes like, knowing the right answer but marking it incorrectly...like I had some blurred vision or something. Did anyone else fell that way? How did some of you guys overcome this? I took the exam at a stretch and did make use of the breaks by drinking water & stuff..

I have my exam in three weeks..and am lost Crying or Very sad ...Please please help me...

Any help appreciated.

I would say practise and only practise can help you.
Following the Test pattern for one day is not gonna help. You need to set your biological cloak in such a way that the time you are gonna take the exam must have to be the most active time of the day.

Try to sit for long hours reading stuffs( I used to browse forums blogs etc) that way you adapt yourself to the computer screen.
Hope this Helps

Hi Buddy,
Dont worry. We all are in the same boat. What i can tell you is that you dont have enough stamina as of now. And it shows that like most of us you are not able to sit and study for long hours. What i would suggest is.
Do some tough maths problems. (There are enough of the net). for full hour and a half so that you are tired and then study 4-5 RCs. then 15-20 CRs. and then 20 SCs. (Long shot right Smile) but try this.

one you do all this, you'll build stamina. Its the problem of stamina and nothing else.

And ya while starting the verbal section eat one chocoloate Smile give you energy to read those RCs.

hope this helps.
Cheers,
Akhil

maybe try taking an energy drink during the break in between the math and verbal sections?

Stamina and concentration are really important to performing well on the verbal section.

I also find that regular exercise also helps clear my thinking. You can try jogging or swimming for half an hour or two every other day up until your test and see if that helps improve concentration at all.

Exercising, eating correctly, sleeping enough, and of course practicing.
