Here is my preparation of verbal so far:
MGMAT SC
MGMAT CR
Verbal Review from GMAC
Just started the Official Guide. 20% done so to speak..

At this point i can do 500-600 level questions quickly and with high accuracy...But in 600+ level questions my timing is off and so is my accuracy. Lots of times i end up with 2 choices which are awfully close and i spend some time trying to figure out which one is correct and i get it wrong. So first i lost more time than usual and second i got it wrong..

The thing is that unless i start correctly solving those tough verbal questions my score is not going to go up!

I am not quite sure if this is something that can be improved. May be i have reached my mental capacity and can't improve anymore ?

Any ideas ?

How much time are you spending on analyzing your errors afterward? This is critical to improving, and you should be spending more time analyzing then actually doing practice problems.
