Hey Akash,

It's a good thought to pursue an MBA. You have planned for 2019 intake which mean you have plenty of time to work on your profile. There are certain questions which you must seek an answer for. Why MBA? What's your post MBA Goals? What's your budget? Where do you want to work post MBA? Your geographical preference. Based on the answers you get, get your profile evaluated by the top B-School alumni, you can also contact us for a FREE Profle evaluation and think about your GMAT/GRE. Based on the geographical prefrence and the post MBA goals, research on the b-schools you must target and set a target on GMAT score and start preparing for your GMAT. Your targetted GMAT range must be something around 700-740.

Tell more about your profile to help you in shortlisting b-schools so that you can set a target range on your GMAT as is just on the numbers game but its yor over all profile which gets you an admit. While assessing your application, top b-schools looks for candidates who have demonstratednleadership qualities in their professional or personal lives. Leadership qualities don’t necessarily mean leading teams - they could also mean the initiatives you had taken, your achievements, impact-orientation and career progression.

You can also evaluate your profile by using our ingenious tool called B-School Selector. B-School selector is an intelligent B-Schools shortlisting tool designed by team of expert consultants graduated from Ivy League B-Schools. This tool provides the list of B-Schools where you have fair chances of getting an admission based on certain parameters like, GMAT Score, Work Experience, International Work Experience and Academic Scores. First, congratulations on planning ahead and realizing that the MBA admissions process is a marathon- not a sprint. So you thinking now about applying in a future year is great. Because it means you have time now to learn what you need so that when you apply you are really ready. First ask yourself where you want to work post MBA. If it is US- then look at US schools. If you would consider Canada- then look there. Europe? look there. So once you have an idea of where you want to work post MBA, then look at for WHAT you want to do, which schools have strong programs. Then look at your GMAT and target programs where you are in 80% range. There is no shortcut for research in this process. One service we offer that could be very helpful to you is our Early Advantage package. We give you 5 hours of counselor time to use the year prior to B school. In the meetings- which happen over Skype and also through email- we do an audit of your MBA profile now- we identify where you are and where you need to be to be competitive at your target schools. I have found that when people take time to do this work upfront- that when they apply they are really ready to go. To find out about that, reach out to us for a free consult at this link: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com/free-consult/ and then for ideas on how to research MBA programs from afar- read this: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com/5-tips-connecting-dream-mba-program-india/
Without knowing your GMAT score range it is hard to say where you should focus- but for digital marketing in the US MBA landscape, I think of some of the offerings at Wharton, Kellogg, Fuqua, and McCombs just as some places to start looking. Best wishes and let us know if you'd like us to help you in this process!
