Hi LUANDATO,

We're asked for the number of BLACK shoes that were sold by Shepard's Shoe Emporium.

1) Three-quarters of the shoes sold were brown.

Fact 1 tells us the 3/4 of the shoes sold were brown, so the other 1/4 were some OTHER color. We don't know what fraction of that were black shoes (it's possible that they were all black shoes and it's possible that none of them were black shoes.
Fact 1 is INSUFFICIENT

2) The Emporium sold 1,284 left shoes.

Fact 2 tells us nothing about the color of the shoes sold.
Fact 2 is INSUFFICIENT

Combined, we simply have no idea how many black shoes (if any) were sold.
Combined, INSUFFICIENT

Final Answer: E
