Hi Jon,
I was wondering your thoughts on the following topic:
Suppose you were hired to a start up and could pick either 1) 0-15K in salary + equity or 2) 50K salary + no equity. Which would look better to adcom or does it not matter?

On the same vain suppose you are a founder and have no salary but held a prior job where you made 65K.. how do you think adcom view that?

Any insight you can provide would be heldful

Well, I'd say don't make this choice based on the AdCom, but based on your evaluation of what is best for you and your career. Remember two things - Bschool is only a middle step for you to get what you ACTUALLY want out of your career. And secondly, Bschool as important and great as it is, is not your entire life (refer to number 1 :) ).

Sooooo, with these things in mind, make your choice without considering Bschool. Any choice and any story can be rewritten. Of course choice 1 is more risky and choice 2 less. But that's up to you - how much risk do YOU want to take?

Best,
JF
