Hi,

Can anyone here please help me in understanding the GMAT Retake Policy...

On MBA.com website, I found the following statement "You may take the GMAT exam once every 31 calendar days and no more than five (5) times in a rolling 12-month period"

I took the GMAT on 29th Oct ... So what is the earliest date i can retake again ? Is it 29th of Nov or 30th Nov ?

The R2 deadline for ISB is 1st Dec and hence I want to somehow squeeze my app for this year if I can manage to take the test again on 29th Nov atleast( don't have a vacant slot for 30th Nov )

Thanks in advance...

Cheers

Hi catchyblues,

I took the GMAT on Oct 29th and I Already scheduled for Nov 30th. I think you should find another test center or you can submit your previous score now and inform them that you will retake the GMAT later on Dec and will update them once you get it. You will still be considered as round 2 applicant. This information is from my own experience.

Note: This is the case in the United States Schools.

Good Luck on your next GMAT exam !!

Cheers

Hi Catchyblues,

Call ISB and talk to the assistant admissions director about your situation. Usually, each school has its own policies and these change every year. If they can let you submit your application first (as long as you are scheduled to take your GMAT in December end) you should still be fine. This will give you more time to focus on your application first and then study for GMAT later.

Generally, you can submit your new scores after submitting your application - as long as it is taken by the end of the same month. During this time frame, your application is put on 'hold'. Once they receive the GMAT scores, your application is moved with the pool that needs to be reviewed.

Please email me directly if you have further questions. Hope this suggestion helped!

Good Luck!
