HBS 2+2

by rg123 » Sat Mar 24, 2012 3:01 am
Hi,

I'm a senior undergrad applying to HBS 2+2 in Round 3. My question relates to the Why MBA? essay. How important is it to articulate why the 2+2 or the deferred admission program is the best fit for me, compared to applying two years down the line anyway?

In my case, I have strong experiences in start-ups as well as setting up an innovation fund for technology projects on campus, and post MBA I'd like to get into VC. But I also have a full-time offer to work with a BB Investment Bank in S&T from my internship. Should I highlight the fact that if admitted to HBS, I'll have the flexibility to work for a technology start-up (or start one on my own)?

Thanks.

Well you should give them a reason, because every bit of logic helps. but it's not ALL that important...at least not as important as the actual goals themselves... meaning they know you want to go because its Harvard and because why not? :)

But avoid the temptation to give more than one set of goals. If you are going for VC, stick with that. If you want to work on your own start up, then stick with that.
