E. A substance derived from the plant Cimicifuga racemosa, also known as phytoestrogen, has proved useful in treating some symptoms of menopause,
(b),(c),(e)- not complete sentences [comma doesn't connect two verb clauses]
(d)- menopausal symptoms is wrong and occasionally+sometimes is redundant

A is wrong. When "which" is used after a comma, it must refer to that directly preceding the comma. In this case, the plant itself is directly preceding. That can't be right because the plant itself does not treat the symptoms, the substance derived from it does.
I believe E is the correct answer.
