GMAT study 10 weeks plan

by november22 » Thu Feb 19, 2015 11:50 am
I'm preparing my gmat exam in the next 10 weeks and have approximately 69 days.

Materials 9 Manhattan guides 5th edition
Official guide 13th edition.

Manhattan 6 cats
mba.com 4 cats
90 practise +additional practise questions
gmat write 1+gmat write 2

Is this sufficient material to break 700

Is it possible to study and cover all these materials in 69 days.

What things I can remove from my plan or should I do all mentioned above

Hi november22,

Have you taken any practice CATs or the Official GMAT before? If so, then what were your scores?

There's no "one-size-fits all formula" for success on the GMAT, so there's no way to know if you've assembled enough materials (or even the "right" materials) to help you hit your goal UNTIL you start studying and we see what type of progress you make. You'll likely need to be flexible with whatever plan you put together.

Ok, I'll finish all 9 manhattan guides and then I'll attempt 90 practise questions from mba.com and then I'll do Manhattan CAT's 1, 2, 3 and then I will post here my scores on 3 manhattan cats and then I will ask my next move here in beat the gmat forum.

Hi november22,

You might consider signing up for Beat The GMAT's free 60-Day Study Guide (https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide). Over 40,000 Beat The GMAT students have already done so.
Each day, you'll receive an email with a series of learning activities that guide you, step-by-step, from Day 1 to test day. This will ensure that you will cover everything that the GMAT tests.

Here's an outline of all 60 emails: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide-outline

Cheers,
Brent

Hi november22,

You are getting it all wrong I am afraid. GMAT is not about studying or cramming some thousands of pages of information, which in all likelihood will be forgotten. It is about learning a few rules and perfecting a structured approach to the test which eventually helps one to get a good score.

When you read your books please jot down the important points and apply them on the OG questions. Do studying and test taking simultaneously. My advice is to read one book thoroughly instead of 12 books. Trust the book you have chosen and follow the advice eked out from that book. Almost all books will deal with the important teaching points for scoring high on the GMAT hence reading too many books is a waste of time. Keep doing a lot of tests and review your performance on a daily basis.

Hope this helps.Write back to us in case you have any further queries.
