Topic: GMAT Strategy
PostTue Nov 03, 2009 6:06 am

Hi guys,

I'm from Germany and I'm looking for a GMAT Strategy. I have planned to take the GMAT in February 2010. I don't need a high score of 700+, but at least 550-600.

Up to now, I have learned with your flashcards, read a lot on the internet and bought the folllowing books to study:

OG, OG Verbal, OG Math
Kaplan 800
SC ManhattanReview

Regarding my plan, I have approximately 3-4 months to study. In addition to my preparation, I have to work and finish my bachelor study. Consequently, my weekly study time is limited (max. 1h/a day & @weekend up to 3-4h.)

I haven't take a practice GMAT so fat, but I guess, I would score 300-400.

What do you guys think? Do I have a real chance to score about 550-600? Any suggestions how to study efficiently?

Thanks a lot.

the books are good to start your prep. with 3-4 months of study (even with the hours mentioned) you should be able to aim for a score at least in the 600s. my personal experience says that after thoroughly using the study material from the books, you'd be able to make the most out of those flash cards. and do make some of your own to address your own weak areas/ points.

tomorrow is my GMAT appointment. I studied for the last 1,5 months approximately 2-3h/day. Worked through OG and partly through Kaplan800. GMATPrep Q34-36; V15-25. Aiming for at least 500.
Wish me the best.

Good Luck Hotstev!!!!!!! We're all rooting for you! One last tip that I actually learned from someone here on BTG... when you get to the verbal section... tell yourself that you enjoy the content - whatever it may be. It seems like a no brainer, but if you keep that in mind... you'll take in the information better... at least that's what I've found!

Keep us posted... and BREATHE!
