I took the GMAT this morning and was disappointed with my math score. Over the last 2 months, I had been studying the math sections in OG11. The math sections in OG11 seemed to be alot easier than the ones on the GMAT today, and I did fine on those sections in OG11. I am also an engineer, so math shouldn't be a problem, but it was today on the exam. In all honesty, I ran out of time, and my pace was way off. I am planning to retake the exam in mid-late Jan.

What do you recommend me studying for the GMAT Quant.? What book will give me the most examples of those that are on the actual test? I have the Kaplan premier program, and thought about doing that, but those math questions didn't seem too hard either. What about the GMAT Math Book or the Kaplan 800? Thanks so much for the help.

Moved to the GMAT Math forum area...

Check out the book recommendations available here: http://www.beatthegmat.com/wiki/. However, it doesn't seem like your problem is with understanding the material; rather it seems an issue of timing and pacing.

Take some time to read through some of the strategy posts available here: http://del.icio.us/beatthegmat. There's a lot of info in that directory to help you practice and master the pacing of the test.

Good luck!

Hi , without going into details what I have gathered from reading over net and other resources --GMAt does not want to check our mathematical knowledge but is more inclined towards checking our "response" towards a mathematical problems and our "efforts" to solve them in "most" simplistic manner possible. Now this can only happen after we have grilled and solved huge number of quant qs from several books and practiced them.

i am working on it , have joined jamborree and look forward to practice on as many qs as possible before my first take.

Need all the wishes i can muster.

take care buddy and all the best.
