20% will not attend => 80% will attend

We are asked to find y such that 80% of y = X

y = (X / 80 )* 100 = 1.25X

Assume the college wants 100 students to attend college

Let's assume it should offer admission to x students

Therefore x - 20x/100 = 100

80x/100 = 100

80x = 10,000

x = 10,000/80 = 1000/8 = 125

Thus it should offer admission to 1.25x students
