    Is x^4 + y^4 > z^4 ?

    (1) x² + y² > z²
    If x = 1, y = 1, z = 0, then x^4 + y^4 > z^4
    If x = 5, y = 6, z = 7, then x^4 + y^4 < z^4
    No definite answer; NOT sufficient.

    (2) x + y > z
    If x = 1, y = 1, z = 0, then x^4 + y^4 > z^4
    If x = 5, y = 6, z = 7, then x^4 + y^4 < z^4
    No definite answer; NOT sufficient.

    Combining (1) and (2), we can take the same examples as in statements 1 and 2 above; NOT sufficient.

    The correct answer is E.
