1- C
Originally the salaries were arranged as
Cal, Dot, Bob, Ann, Ed.
Bob had the median salary of 360,000. If the median changed to 330,000, that means that Anne has the new median because for cal to have the new median then Cals salary would increase 140k. If his salary increase 140k it would be greater then annes because hers will decrease by 140k. Therefore, Anne's must of decreased by 90k to become 330,000. and Cals would increase by 90 k to become 280,000. Thus, less than Anne still.

2 - D
Create a table with R, T, and D. total distance is 60 miles. Find the individual times and add them. Total time becomes 1.65 hours. Solve for r ( R=60/1.65) = 36.363636363636363636363633663363636363636363636363636363 and so on.

Is this right?

For 2 I would use the same concept to go 10 miles at 25 mpg would be .4 gallons used and to go 50 miles at 40mpg would use 1.25 gallons therefore 1.65 gallons total to 60 miles . 60/1.65 mpg

Question (1)-Try plugging in the values and solve the problem.E is eliminated at once and when D is plugged in the median becomes 330,000 and also satisfies the question..Therefore the answer is D.

Question (2)-The answer is D..The method used by drholmer is the best and the easiest.
