GMAT Score: 700
Topic: GMAT Exam?

Hello,

I know the current slogan at most business schools is "We only look at the top score" but is that TRULY accurate? How many times is too many in your experience? Could I really take it 4-5 times?

I have taken the exam two times, scoring a 700 & 690. I have scored 720/730 at home and I would like to simply reach my full potential.

They will only look at your top score in terms of the GMAT but they will also note that you took the test four or five times (that is, they won't be looking at the lower scores; just that you felt the need / desire to take it over and over and over and over again).

The reason that schools look at your top score is to give the guy who was sick, got there late, or just generally had a bad day a chance to show what they can really do. That policy is not designed to give people multiple opportunities to get an extra 20-30 points on the test. A test-taker taking that approach shows an unseemly grasping quality.

Your wanting to achieve your full potential is commendable; however, a 700 is a great that should do you well at almost every program in the country. If you are COMPLETELY convinced that you can get a 730 or a 740 then take it ONE more time; if not, be proud of your great score and move on to the essays.
