GMAT 640 (Q47 V31) (2nd attempt)

by ajey2688 » Sat Nov 07, 2015 5:48 am
Guys got a 640 in my second attempt. I had a 600 in my first. I was scoring around 680 - 710 in my mocks. Dont know where I went wrong.

Anyways, this is my profile.
Job Profile: Offshore Structural Engineer
Experience: 2.5 yrs in structural design with one of India's leading manufacturing company.
Industry: Oil & Gas
Education : Masters in Technology from IIT Madras (8.36/10)

I have strong extra curricular activities.

Target Schools:
1) MSU Eli Broad
2) Texas A&M Mays
3) Penn State Smeal
4) Kelley Indiana

Post MBA goals: To be in the Manufacturing or Oil & Gas Sector (Supply Chain)

Should give one more shot at GMAT or apply to the above schools ?

I think you have a shot at the schools you mentioned, but if you can get a score that is more in line with the mock scores you have received it will greatly improve your chances.

Give it one more go, and good luck!

Your GMAT score is not that low for the schools you are targeting. Kelley's average GMAT is 671, Mays's is 648 and Smeal's is 636.
If it helps, we've seen many cases of applicants getting admitted with low GMAT scores, as you can see here: https://www.aringo.com/Aringo_TOP_MBA_GMAT_Results.htm
