Topic: Fullbright Scholarship
PostFri Feb 05, 2010 8:59 am

Hi, I have the choice to apply through a fullbright schoolarship, which can only be obtained through the sponsorship of my current employer. Of course, I have to come back at least 2 years to the same company once I´m done with the studies. Does applying as a fulbright recipient really improves my chances that dramatically as to having to commit myself to get back to the same employer?

Appreciate any thoughts on this...Thanks.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your post. Being a Fullbright scholar can certainly have a positive impact on your applications and may very well have a very positive long term impact as well. However, only you can decide if you are willing to commit to two years at your employer. If you feel that returning to your employer will hinder the achievement of your short and long term goals, then perhaps it is not the best thing to do. However, if you feel that your long term goals can still be achieved by returning to your employer for 2 years, then it may very well be worth considering.

Best,

Stacey
