a. I like to study in towns rather than in cities.
b. I like warm climate.
c. I am looking for top25 schools only.
d.I am primary looking for colleges which can offer scholarships for my profile.

Based on these above criteria, I have shortlisted the above schools. Could you kindly let me know whether the targeted schools are apt for my profile? If not, could you say whether my profile is recommended to apply for these target schools?

2. Could you kindly comment about my leadership potential? Is that strong, weak or OK? What more I can do to make it better to put strong application forward?

3. As I worked primarily as a developer, I did not get a chance to go onsite in my company. Hence, I do not have any international experience. Do B-schools highly value of the international experience. Lack of international experience is a big worry to me. Will this hamper my chances to get into my target schools?

4. Can I contact admission committee of my target schools by sending my CV to them and asking my chances for scholarship?

5. I am an international student. I would prefer schools which provide scholarships than which do not. Which schools would provide scholarships for my profile? What are the aspects (in particular) each school look at?

Dear Yamini,
Good to hear from you. So first of all let's have a look at your profile overall, and then we can get into the details of your questions:

The Challenges:
- Non IIT
- Indian/Tech
- No international experience
- No official leads

The Good stuff:
- Female
- Excellent grades

The questions marks:
- GMAT
- Details about work experience and progress.

This last point is especially important. All I know about you is that you worked for 4.5 years for TCS, but I know neither what nor how you did, and these will of course be vital as you apply.

Noooow, on to your questions:
1. It's too early to tell without a GMAT or detail about your work experience. For US schools, if you break a 720, anything but the Top 10 should be attainable.
2. I don't have enough detail!!! :) Just project leadership is pretty average. It depends on what else you have, in work and out.
3. Well, let's just say that it would be good if you had it, but you don't so instead think about what sort of "international experience" you can get out of what you DO have - like work with foreigners, collaboration with overseas teams, work in foreign languages, and so on. It counts too!
4. It won't really help. You will just have to apply.
5. Most schools offer scholarships, but usually you will get offered scholarships at schools where your profile is much better than the average (you have to be a quite attractive candidate for them to offer you money to come), and so what happens is that these offers will often come from less good schools.

I hope this has answered all of your questions.
Best,
JF
