Topic: Essay recommendation

Hi Stacy,
Again I would like to thank you for helping all of us out here.
My question is regarding one of the essay topics.
When asked for creativity in professional or personal life -- what would be preferred - just a more exciting one or a professional one.
All the examples that I have seen so far seem to stick to professional scenarios.
I do have some great stories to tell in my community work experience; but I am scared that I won't be taken seriously if I don't stick to a professional example.

Your help will be deeply appreciated.

I apologize for the delayed reply. New messages were not showing up in my email for the past week, so I just saw your post today.

It really does not matter whether it is professional or personal. What matters is the quality of the story and how it showcases your abilities. You may also want to evaluate the topic that you select in the context of your other essays. For example, if all of your essays are focused on your career this may be a good opportunity to discuss something more personal.

Hi Stacy,
Thanks for replying. I know how busy you are.

Currently the strategy I am chalking out is more like:

Goals-- focus mostly on for profit experience with some plans for non-profit.
Passion--- focus on my community service client.
Innovation-- some proven innovation in the non-profit sector.
Background essay-- this is the long one and I think this is where I will try to focus on my background, where I am and why an MBA now etc

I have obtained permission to submit an extra recommendation from my non-profiut supervisor as it is a big part of my life.

Do you think I am leaning little bit too much towards my non-profit and should I just stick to one essay to explain my non-profit contributions.

It's a bit difficlt to comment in this form - I don't have nearly enough information. However, I will do my best: There is definitely a heavy emphasis on non-profit here, but it sounds like it is an important aspect of who you are - your passions and goals. It is probably okay, though you will want to make sure that you come off as having several dimensions, and make sure that the important qualities of leadership, teamwork, ethics, creativity, etc... are revealed through your stories.
