Hey all,
Here I am, 4 years after my GMAT (Remember posting my post-GMAT review HERE back then). I'm sure there are tonnes of such posts on this forum so I'm not expecting some amazing personal response catered to solve every life problem I have. But any insight into how LBS looks in hindsight would be great!
I'm at a position where the life at LBS seems enticing but at the cost of 2 years and a steep price tag. I'm 26 and work for pretty well reputed international company in Australia. Now..... that being said, this is not the path I want to continue on.
I feel tired of being in this industry and am looking to make a switch. However, the idea of doing a similar role in another industry does not strike as appealing either. Don't get me wrong, the role is quite challenging and always makes you realise how much more there is to learn. But my passion is to eventually start my own company and work at it with all my heart and mind. To work my ass off while enjoying every minute. To OWN it and want it to grow like it's a part of me. And to watch it become something more than I what I set it out to be! That would be the pinnacle. Ahh.. just thinking of it makes my eyes go starry.
Now... the issues I've got...
1) I don't have a clear idea of what that something is going to be. I want it to be something with travel and outdoors. Would love for it to involve physical interaction with people. Something maybe with a social component? Something with a good demand that can generate good revenue. Something that'll cater to a need in the market. Something with a potential to grow.... but none of that is a clear idea. They're vague desires.
2) I don't know what skills I do not have that I will need for this. It's a classic case of "you don't know what you don't know". I've tried reading up, looked through some online courses and participated in entrepreneurship forums in the hopes that I will know enough to avoid some common pitfalls. But again... I reckon on-the-job experience will make all of this seem futile.
3) I feel the lack of confidence is making me procrastinate and that I could be starting early on and making most of my prime years to get this going. But again.. I feel lost as to how to move forward.
Not sure if LBS would be the best best for me to get out of my rut and on my way to a career in entrepreneurship. More than anything, I wonder if a change of atmosphere and being surrounded by other professionals looking to do all sorts of things in the field of business might help me clear out my foggy head and get some clarity and vision.
Would anyone have have any tips for me? I would REALLY appreciate any advice.
Cheers,
Fred

"Target Test Prep is the closest to the official version of the GMAT exam, about 99% accuracy in terms of the quality and quantity of information. The course has excellently created singular sets of focused lessons and tests for every possible topic that one could come across in the official GMAT exam."
"The TTP course maximizes the efficiency of the time you spend studying. It will take time and effort but I could almost guarantee that if you complete the course exactly as it is laid out you will get an amazing score. They also have a very responsive team willing to help with any questions you might have."
"TTP has two things that I think no other test prep company offers: A teaching approach that reinforces understanding and an attitude that will give you the mental preparedness needed to succeed on the test. TTP gives you a deep understanding of the concept you need to know while teaching you how to think."
