I have been dogged by disappointing scores in my GMAT score. Quite simply these do not reflect my ability.
Such testing does not suit my intellectual style. As a child I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and so faced signicant challenges in standardized tests and exams. However, with determination and creativity I been successful in my career in finance and achieved with honors in University.
I am worried that a low GMAT will hold back my chances of getting into B-school, how would admission committees feel to an optional essay describing my dyslexia as a reason for my low GMAT score?
Dyslexic applicant with low GMAT... Optional Essay.

Write them the story. Explain to the them exactly how tough and how bad your Dyslexia is. It is a disadvantage, so let's deal with it, by as you wrote in the title, attacking it head on in an optional essay. And then spend the rest of your essays showing them how amazing and passionate you are.

Yes, absolutely address this in the optional space. Something like while this has been a disadvantage, you overcame it in many facets of your career. Just make sure that the essay comes across as a positive piece showcasing your determination & will to face any challenge.
Good Luck!

In addition to the other points, try to substantiate how your dyslexia will not affect you at MBA school. So hopefully you have high grades to point to the fact that these grades are more representative of what you will achieve at MBA school.
