hmm
i have praise + constructive criticism.
--
the praise first:
* this is probably the single most complete set of GMAT "quick tips" that i've seen ... anywhere.
if you're looking for fast, on-the-go type review materials, then these should be among them.
--
now, the constructive criticism:
* in general, flash cards are most useful when the FRONT of the card is a QUESTION or STIMULUS of some sort, and the BACK is an ANSWER or RESPONSE.
this is the real point of flash cards, vs. other sorts of review materials: they drill you on QUICK RESPONSES TO STIMULI. you can shuffle them into different orders, and then use them to quiz yourself; you look at the front, and then produce the response on the back. (if the flash cards just contain information on one side, then there's no real reason to make flash cards at all, vis-a-vis just writing the same information down in a notebook.)
unfortunately, these flash cards aren't made like this.
fortunately, many of them could easily be adapted so that they are like this.
for instance:
the Sample flash card shown on the web link shows the triangle + exterior angle, and then, on the same side of the card, shows the relationship between the angles.
this isn't as helpful as it could be, because the student takes it all in at once; there's no chance to IDENTIFY the relationship in the picture, or to PRODUCE it while looking at the stimulus.
if the card were reworked, so that the FRONT showed the diagram, and asked "what is 'd' in terms of the other angles?" and then the BACK said "d = a + b", then it would be much, much more useful.

Thanks for the feedback Ron.
These flashcards are definitely a product of the notes I used to take in my notebook when I was studying for the GMAT. Because it was painful for me to review several pages of notes, I simply adapted the text into flashcard format.
Also, I actually like the format as is. Although it does not lend itself for quizzing, it is a nice design for quick review. While I was actively studying from these flashcards, I liked the fact that I didn't have to flip to get the info I needed. It makes review of the content very fast when you don't have to flip.
Complete sidebar and fun fact. These flashcards have been downloaded over 70,000 times to date! Amazing, huh! _________________ Eric

as i said, they're still the best twice-distilled source of information i've seen.
70,000 downloads? wow, i bet you're kicking yourself for not selling them. even at $5 per download, and assuming that maybe 10% of free downloaders would pay the money, you're still looking at $35k. _________________ ron purewal

Haha, thanks Ron. I have no regrets at all about giving these away for free. It's just really great to know that thousands of people have been able to benefit from this resource!
Also, an exciting FYI: these flashcards are currently being updated (by a professional GMAT instructor) and redesigned! I'll be sharing the updated set next month. _________________ Eric

Hi Folks:
Just wanted to encourage folks to download the GMAT Flashcards right now--I've uploaded an updated version just a few minutes ago!
These flashcards have been reviewed and edited by a top test prep instructor for quality control.
On another note: I am looking for a volunteer to help me redesign the look and feel for the set. If anyone is interested in helping out, please PM me.
Thanks! _________________ Eric

Thanks for the wonderful resource. This, combined with the MGMAT flashcards, (seem to) make for a killer abbreviated study guide.
One note...it looks like every question is marked Verbal (I think it's wrong starting on Pg. 38). This was a little confusing since I printed on a laser/B&W printer, but I quickly realized that "Multiples of 3" probably didn't have anything to do with Verbal |

This is awesome Eric! These combined with MGMAT flashcards are extremely useful for study on the day before exam!
QUICK Question: I would like to add some of the interesting formulae that I have come across so far in my GMAT Prep.
Ex: Radius of incircle of right angled triangle =
(Sum of perpendicular sides - Hypotenuse) / 2
Do you think a place holder where such formulae could be uploaded and later consolidated by volunteers would be helpful for the prospective gmatters? _________________ Want to Beat GMAT.
