    Hi,

I just happen to come across the following sentence, but have a doubt.

Mother Teresa's service to the poor of all religions and her relentless effort to improve the hospitals in India have been recognised by both government and civilian organizations.

I am not sure whether using her in the above sentence is correct usage or not ?

    Kindly clarify.

    Thanks,
    Rohan

"her" is a possessive pronoun and correctly refers to mother teresa.

    hence the usage is correct.

In a way, not using her after and will make it an incorrect sentence.

    Am I correct ?

i think use of "her" is required for the sentence to make sense.

    Thanks Killer1387.

I want to make myself clear whether the sentence makes some sense without using her after and.

    Please somebody contribute your thoughts.

    Thanks,
    Rohan.
