Could someone please tell me how to systematically approach a CR problem in detail? Like what steps to take... what to look for, what not to look for? Any good online resources for CR Strategies?
Right now I am not using any kind of strategy except for normally understanding the argument...identify the qquestion type (strengthen/weaken), look for what is out of scope (again sometimes i end up choosing the wrong one) and use process of elimination (this one from Princeton review) . Randomly I end up in wrong answers, so I am guessing I shuld use a more systematic approach once I identify whether its a stregthen or weaken argument type?
Any help will be greatly appreciated... |

Here are some of the techniques I am using. Use them at your discretion.
1. Always understand Conclusion - pick up any CR questions and try to write conclusion by yourself for practice
2. Always understand the assumptions - do above technique for practice
3. look for word modifiers while reading the passage such as some, all, many, could, would, should, will, etc. - many times in tests I have found that answers can be easily found if we pay attention to these modifiers
4. Answer will ALWAYS be within passage given. Never outside. Do not use your common sense to over answer the questions
5. extreme answers that have ALL, NEVER, EVER - always are wrong based on question asked. |
