It is clear that now is the time to study physics. Recently, a poll of the readership of The Physics Review showed that more than half the respondents believed that their universities needed an infusion of students with talent in physics. This indicates that there are many employment opportunities in these physics departments.

Which of the following, if true, would most effectively weaken the conclusion that now would be a good time to study physics?

There are only ten full-time professors in the average university physics department.

The physics departments at small universities are currently underfunded.

Those who study physics are not always satisfied with their chosen field.

Only 60 percent of universities are actively looking to increase their general science faculty.

Only 0.01 percent of the members of university physics departments read The Physics Review.

why isn't B the correct answer,
Most university being underfunded points out that this isn't the great time to join as physics tutor, which means student do not feel great hence weakens the argument.
!!!!!
M I MAKING SENSE???

I'll go with B too.

Option E is about readership of the Physics Review. Even if 100% readers read this review, it does not mean that now is the good time to study physics.

Option B reasons weakens the premise "there are many employment opportunities in phy dept" and hence weakens the conclusion that now is a good time to study Physics.

What's the OA?

@Anju...

It cannt be B.B is limited its scope to small universities whereas the author has never mention about the small uni or big uni. So, it can be eliminated as out of scope.

E clearly evades the stats. The readers giving the conclusion actually do not represent the subject under consideration.So, this is the best option.

OA is E.
