If you will indulge me, I would like to post a biased opinion to plug Veritasprep. As an admissions consultancy, I feel Veritas is underrated. Not only do you get unlimited access to a Head Consultant, who actually worked on an admissions committee at a top ten school, but you also get access to specialists who actually graduated from each school to which you are applying. I have never seen a client who did not think their essays were better after working with Veritas. Check them out at www.veritasprep.com under admissions consulting tab.

Thanks for your reply, I was unaware of the fact that veritas offered essay services. I use to think they only offer GMAT prep services

I wanted to add my 2 cents )) I used the services of IvyEyes editing. I obviously don't know the resuls of my applications yet, as I am applying for 2010 intake, but I am very happy with the service and quality that Ivy provided.
My essays changed a LOT, and my advisor's comments were truly inspirational for further thinking and content development.
I can highly recommend them ))

Essay Edge was simply amazing. You can request editors and I would highly recommend Ian Thompson. He helped me clean up my essays and bring down the word count.
The great thing about essay edge is that they don't lose your voice, add fluff, or make it sound cookie cutter. I really liked how Ian did a great job on one essay just by rearranging some of the sentences, but the end result just flowed infinitely better.

If you don't have friends or family you can help you critically edit your essay.
