Most of Brent's working life has been in the field of education; he loves teaching and it shows. In particular, he enjoys the creative and problem-solving aspects of presenting complex material in a manner that is most accessible to students.

After completing university, Brent spent seven years teaching high school mathematics to diverse student populations. During this time, he developed his teaching skills and built meaningful relationships with students.

Although Brent always loved teaching high school, he felt a strong need to be self employed. So, he turned to writing and, as a contractor, he created training materials for companies such as Samsung, Symantec, BMW, Staples, Best Buy and the British Columbia provincial government to name a few. He also helped produce the MathNow math series--43 hours of online tutorials for BC's Principles of Math 12.

Seven years ago, Brent entered the world of test preparation and began teaching GMAT, GRE and LSAT prep courses for the Renert Center in Calgary, Alberta, and later for Veritas Prep.

Most recently, Brent created a comprehensive GMAT prep courseware package for the University of British Columbia (UBC) to use in its own GMAT preparation courses, and to license to other universities in North America.

Through his company, Leap Education, Brent provides online GMAT tutorials, Math 12 exam preparation seminars, and professional development workshops for math teachers.

In his spare time, Brent enjoys playing most sports, travelling and spending time with his wife and family.
