Hi,

I'm a graduating student of Economics from Chennai, India, female.
Average: 65% (In the top 2 students of the class. Arts degrees do not grant above 70% in our university) WES evaluated equivalent GPA: 3.9/4.00
GMAT: 730
Work experience: Internship at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, India - 2.5 months
College Activities
President Of Debate Society
Secretary General of the college's national Model United Nations Conference
Ran several small ventures at college events
Head of Sponsorship for Annual University Theatrical Production
Chief Editor of College and School Magazine
Been involved in community service with local NGOs
Academically excellent in high school as well.
12th standard - 85%. Merit Certifiate(top 01/% of the country) in Chemistry.
10th Standard - 95%. Three Merit Certificates in Social Science, Sanskrit and Mathematics.
Done a basic course in Spanish

Would I stand any chance at all or is the May 14th deadline too late for me?

Would also be really grateful for any suggestions on applying to B Schools, early career for me.

Thanks so much in advance

You totally have a chance! And if you feel now is the right moment and that is the right school, go for it!

Buuuuut maybe think about it one more time, if you are not rushing things... because often it can give you better results if you apply to a lot of schools simultaneously, because then you can have a lot more choice between schools, and may also get more scholarship offers...

Thanks, Jon Smile

I actually want to work for a couple of years before an MBA. Long term plan is to be in management at a mediacorp/hi-tech someday, so ideally, I'd love to get into consulting right now.

Unfortunately for me, I got dinged after a final round interview at McK and I'm now at a loss about what to do, because the other big consulting firms in India only recruit engineers. Sigh :/

Any and all advice is much appreciated

Well I wouldn't presume here, I'm not exactly a life or career consultant, but help people get into B-schools. Ask around, in your industry. From a B-school perspective though, anything that could give you decent leadership opportunities is the way to go though, and anything more "businessy" and less "tech" if you can manage it, would also be helpful,
