Carlson Part-Time vs Anderson FEMBA ?

Post Mon Dec 26, 2016 8:26 pm
I've got the admit from both the programs and while I know that both are great programs I am divided in which one to choose.

Background about myself: Graduated from India in Engineering. 13 years experience in IT Project/Program management. Currently living and working in Minneapolis area. Married.

My Goal is to transition from Project Manager role to Product Marketing role.

Couple of points I can share and would love to get your feedback as well as suggestions.

    1. Carlson starts in Spring i.e. Jan 2017 while Anderson will start from Fall 2017.
    2. Tuition Cost difference in the program FEMBA being $30k - $40k higher than Carlson.
    3. Much higher cost of living in los angeles compared to Minneapolis.
    4. It is much more possible to take the Weekday classes in Carlson but with LA Traffic and distance All day Saturday would be the best option at Anderson.
    5. UCLA Anderson is a bigger brand compared to Carlson.
    6. Both programs are in top 10.
    7. Carlson has strong Midwest presence while Anderson is spread across nation and primarily on West coast.
    8. Both Part-Time programs offer Global experience while in Anderson it is a mandatory at Carlson they consider the various factors that can impact the student and thus offer the g-local option as well.
    9. Carlson offers a strong industry focus specialization in Healthcare, something i'll be interested in over the leadership/entertainment focus offered by Anderson.
    10. Anderson network is better and bigger compared to Carlson.
    11. Strong company presence in Minneapolis area as well.
    12. Carlson offers an opportunity to finish and graduate early while at Anderson FEMBA graduation is at end of 3 years.

Considering that both are Part-Time MBA programs, I look forward to your suggestions and thoughts in making the best choice.[/list]
