Topic: Beat The GMAT Milestones
PostTue Jul 11, 2006 7:48 pm

Today a special milestone was reached--the Beat The GMAT! Forum now has over 1000 registered members!

When I created this website last April, I predicted that it would take me until December 2006 to reach 1000 users. This estimate was completely wrong--it only took 3 months to reach this number, not 8 months!

Thanks to all of you for helping me build this terrific GMAT community. Website activity continues to grow each day, and I'm optimistic that this forum will one day become known as one of the best resources for GMAT preparation.

Best of luck to you all in your preparation, and please help spread the word!

Hi Johny:

Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping record of post counts. I do know that we had about 1500 posts on September 15, 2006.

I'll try to keep better track of this stuff in the future--I'm interested in mapping the upward trajectory of user activity. This place is growing more and more!

Today I was reviewing the Alexa score for Beat The GMAT, and I was pleased to see that this website has cracked the Top 100,000! Our Alexa score as of today is 94,112.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Alexa: it is a system that tracks web traffic on the Internet and loosely attempts to rank the most visited sites from the least. Alexa's system and methodology are far from perfect, but from Beat The GMAT's score it is supposed to be inferred that we're the 94,112nd most visited website on the Internet.

Nice work everyone in spreading the word about this community service project!

And all this is happening when I am away huh! Mad Wink
& I was thinking, I am the greatest traffic creator of this site.. . Sad Crying or Very sad Laughing

Nah baby you can move it alone

I remember when I was back from break in November 2006 I set this thing in my mind to beat no. of post to no. of members as soon as I (we/ us) could. [ Because I believe that is one of the indication of Forum's maturity] So I started posting here extensively more and more interactive posts ... so that members would participate more....

but Na thats not enough. I realised the trick is different (which I of course wont tell Laughing )
I tired, & finally gave up.
BUT EVENTUALLY WE BEAT IT.
OH! YEAH

MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FORUM AND THE COMMUNITY 8)

Glad to see you back from your break. Smile

Don't want to dilute these milestones--but we crossed 6000 posts today.

1000 posts in one month--not bad. Smile

Interesting milestone--today I checked SiteMeter statistics for this website, and I saw the following total pageviews: 1,003,944.

Looks like we've hit over a million pageviews since launching in April last year!

Also--I think that SiteMeter is severely underreporting traffic/pageviews for this website. I recently installed Google Analytics and it's been reporting a lot more visits/page views. I tend to trust the Google data more...

Great work everybody in building this community!
