AWA 5.5

by kolkata81 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 10:46 pm
Hi, I screwed up GMAT but nevertheless got 5.5 in AWA (83 percentile). I didn't prepare much for this section, just did some template revision. Any idea if 5.5 is good enough? Should I aim for a 6.0 in my next attempt (meaning, probably prepare more)? How important is AWA in admission process?

5.5 is a great score. Don't sweat the AWA. From what I've heard they may use your AWA to compare against your admissions essays to make sure you wrote them yourself.

Use your brainpower on the parts of the test that really matter! Stacey Koprince, the resident GMAT strategy expert, says aim for a 5.0 because it requires less mental energy and keeps you fresh for quant/verbal.
