Correct answer = E
For both person assertions G and H to be true, option E only fits,
That there were more "cretirion met" photographs submitted by photographers than sculptors and painters.

There can only be 2 reasons for displaying more photographs than sculptors and paintings.
1.More number of photographers participated in the ArtShow.
2.More number of photos relevant to the theme were submitted by the photographers.
Since the argument states that equal number of photographers, sculptors and painters participated option1 is ruled out. Hence, only option 2 prevails which is correctly stated in option E.

Hi,
I got the answer E but my approach is so time-consuming, can anyone help me to find another approach to save time?
Question: G's & H's assertions are true, which one must be true -> I care only to assertions of G and H.
G: Submission: Photographers = Sculptors = painters; Display: photos > sculptures , paintings. Each artiest submit in ONE medium only
H: All submitted works that met the criteria were exhibited
My expectation in answer: More photos met criteria than sculptures and paintings.
(A) This goes against the premise of G "Submission: Photographer = Sculptors = painters" -> eliminated
(B) If this is true -> Display: photo = sculptures = paintings -> Bias -> H's assertion is NOT true (against premise) -> eliminated
(C) Not 100% true. For instant, criteria is 8 out of 10 to be displayed. Some of photos have score 7 even higher than score 3 of some sculptures and paintings but they weren't displayed -> not a firm answer. But I still keep it as contender in case no better answer.
(D) This doesn't tell why NO bias and "Display: photos > sculptures , paintings" -> eliminated
(E) Seems to meet my expectation
So I got E.
But it took me 3m 25s to solve it, of course I didn't type in full like above.
Can anyone suggest me a better approach ?

E...daretodream wrote:G: The group of works exhibited in this year's Metropolitan Art Show reveals a bias in favor of photographers. Equal numbers of photographers, sculptors, and painters submitted works that met the traditional criteria for the show, yet more photographs were exhibited than either sculptures or paintings. H: How could there have been bias? All submitted works that met the traditional criteria-and only those works-were exhibited in the show.
16.If both G's assertions and H's assertion are true, which one of the following must also be true?
(A) More photographers than sculptors or painters submitted works to be considered for exhibition in the Metropolitan Art Show.
(B) All the works submitted for the Metropolitan Art Show met the traditional criteria for the show.
(C) The quality of photographs exhibited in the metropolitan Art Show was inferior to the quality of the sculptures or paintings exhibited.
(D) Some of the photographs submitted for the Metropolitan Art Show did not meet the traditional criteria for the show.
(E) More works that met the traditional criteria for the Metropolitan Art Show were submitted by photographers than by sculptors or painters.

E indeed. The answer choices have easy inference for most of them but only partly. Option E indeed help explain both the G and H's point of view.
Option E is correct.
The hint can be taken from the lines -:
G: more photographs were exhibited than either sculptures or paintings. As you know, each artist was allowed to submit work in one medium only.
H: All submitted works that met the traditional criteria-and only those works-were exhibited in the show.
So, if a person submits his work in any medium and his work fits into the criteria, the work will be exhibited.
We can conclude that more photographs met the criteria than the sculptures and paintings.
That is what the option 'E' says.

E in answer.
Though all submitted works met the traditional criteria, more works of photographers than that of either sculptors or painters met the traditional criteria for the Metropolitan Art Show.
