Just came from the test center and my wife is waiting for me to go for lunch so I'll try to be brief. The results are in: Q: 49 (89%) V:34 (70%) total 670 (87%). I wanted to thank Eric, Stacy, and Mayonnai5e for your help. I do not feel disappointed because I think the test results are a good indicator of where my skill level is at.

I am an engineer from South America with a fairy tale life story , was born and raised in the slums of a 3rd world country (where all my family still lives), first in my family of 7 to go to college, learned English in my late teens, came to the US as an exchange student, graduated with honors, and now I work in Corporate America. I am trying not to feel sad but F*ck.. I felt I had it. The essay topics were easy. The math was relatively easy at first but around question 17-20 it became much harder. I did get a couple of probability questions and several tough algebraic problems.

On my second break I ate a banana (not a good idea) and went back in. I felt very uneasy throughout the verbal section. The problems were hard. They felt much harder than OG11. My pace was way off and I had to really hurry in the last 15 questions. I think that to improve my verbal I would have to shake things up. Maybe the LSAT verbal can help me. I am still debating whether to take the test a second time. Any advice Stacy?

PS I know the percentile table changes but I have seen people with identical scores to mine ,who took the test less than a month ago, but with a final score of 690 (90% percentile). I still hoping the GMAC made a mistake (the latter is a joke:))

Wow, you have quite an incredible story. I don't think that it's necessary for you to re-take the test because (1) it's a great score, and (2) you have a fantastic, unique story that admin councils will definitely appreciate.

Congrats and focus on the apps!

I agree with Eric. 670 is not a score to laugh at. And it really depends on what school you are trying to get into. If you look at the top 30 schools, 670 is definitely in range for a majority of them. Combine that with a great story (which you have) and you probably have a strong chance to get into a good school. As others have said on this forum, it's not all about the GMAT score - the whole story is taken into account.

Congrats on the great score!
