What i observed is that.. the files on this website can be downloaded without being a member.. Wouldn't it be a good idea to make it compulsory to join the site so that we can have a count of the exact no of people using the resources and it would also keep us motivated in participating here.

Yup, I think that makes sense. I've been thinking about this issue this week, and I agree with you--I'm going to make these files available only to users.
More incentive for people to become members!
