abs value equation

If |x| + |y| = -x – y and xy does not equal 0, which of the following must be true?
x + y > 0
x + y < 0
x – y > 0
x – y < 0
x^2 – y^2 > 0

|x| + |y| = -x – y

tells us both X and Y are negatives. We also know that XY is not 0, so X and Y are not 0

X+Y = needs to be negative too.
