Volume of a cube = e³.
Surface area of a cube = 6e².
(1,000,000 liters) * (1 cubic meter)/(1,000 liters) = 1,000 cubic meters.
Since the volume of the cube = 1,000 cubic meters, we get:
e³ = 1,000 cubic meters
e = 10 meters.
To determine the required number of metal sheets, we must calculate the surface area of the cube:
Surface area = 6e² = 6*10² = 600 square meters.
Area of each 4x2 metal sheet = 4*2 = 8 square meters.
Required number of metal sheets = (surface area of the cube)/(area of each metal sheet) = 600/8 = 75.
The correct answer is E.
Surface area of a cube = 6e².

Since 1 cubic meter = 1,000 liters, then 1,000,000 liters = 1,000,000/1,000 = 1,000 cubic meters. So the volume of the cube is 1,000 cubic meters, which means an edge of the cube is 10 meters, since 10^3 = 1,000. Therefore, the surface area of the cube, which is to be made using the metal sheets, is 6 x 10^2 = 600 square meters. Since each metal sheet is 4 x 2 = 8 square meters, 600/8 = 75 metal sheets will be needed to make the cube.AAPL wrote:A welder received an order to make a 1 million liter cube-shaped tank.
