Thanks a lot Stacy for your recommendation.
I have decided to apply for madison & owen for fall2008.
My profile reads as follows:
My GMAT score was 710(V40,Q47,AWA5) and I topped in my university with a GPA of 3.9(according to Wikipedia).
I graduated in 2003 and have 6 months experience from a top Indian IT firm and about 1 year experience from a start-up(will have more than 2 yrs exp by the time I join in fall 2008).
Apart from my low work exp, I have a gap(2yrs) in my resume as I left my job to look after my kid. I am from India and stayed with my family in US for more than 2 yrs (does it count as international exposure?)
I do have considerable extra-curr in school and college and volunteer work thorough writing.
My writings gets published for a non-profit and are used for press releases. How do you think I should craft my application to make it look unique? Should I highlight my writing ?Also would it be a good idea to show my gap as an ex of my commitment to my family(kid in particular)? Do I need to go for more volunteer work? |

It's difficult to advise you on how to craft your application in this setting but I can tell you that all of the things you mention - taking time off to care for your child, the writing experience - should play a part in your application. It may be interesting to discuss the personal struggle you have had with balancing family and career and how you have resolved it and are now heading to business school while still prioritizing family. _________________ S T A C Y B L A C K M A N Consulting
