I highly recommend that you use the GMAT/MBA Library to help you prepare for those sections, there is a lot of great advice from GMAT teachers in that resource. Good luck!

Hi Eric,
I have scheduled my gmat in the month of september and i am already preparing for the test.As i have an engineering backround i am ok with all quant conceps.though i am able to do only certain level of questions and i am failing to do questions which are of higher difficuly. As i said im well aware of the concepts what im looking for is books which have a good number of questions and which are not so basic,i mean i am looking for mid level to higher level questions.I have an OG 13th edition with me.What kind of books do you suggest for more practise in the areas which i have mentioned.i just want to practice a lot and what books will help me.How good is the kaplan 800 BOOK?
Comming to verbal i am facing a lot of problems in SC and CR.I am not good at verbal(i am not from a english speaking background). Can you suggest me books which covers all the basic grammar required for SC and good practise questions(i wanna start from scratch in this section). And what good books are avialable for CR?Will be waiting for your reply.

Hi Prateek, I highly recommend that you check out our book reviews section: http://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/books

You'll see extensive reviews there on the books we recommend. Also, if you haven't done so already, I think you should sign up for our 60-Day Study Guide, which is a daily e-mail study plan where we tell you what to review each day for 60 days: http://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide

Hi Eric,
Thanks a lot for the reply.I will surely take up the 2 month program.I have read the book reviews, but the ratings for both kaplan workbooks and the og verbal and quant reviews are the same.I am confused about which books to choose from them,as i said im looking for a lot of practise in both sections with good practtise questions which will help me achieve my target. So what do you suggest to go for among kaplan workbooks and OG reviews??i have an OG 13th edition presently, looking for more practise.Or is there any particular book you suggest me to follow.

If you're looking for practice questions, I would emphasize working with all of the OG books (13th Edition as well as the quant and verbal books). They are the best resources available on the marketing for practice questions. Good luck!

Hello Eric
I went through the posts in the topic.I was preparing for gmat since last week.I am looking for a score of above 650 too.I registerded for the two month study plan as you are suggesting it for most of the queries.I am planing to get the og 13th and its verbal and quant reviews. My question for you is whether the books i have mentioned above will be enough to get a score of 650 or above.Or do i need to get any extra stuff? My main motive is to get 650 and i wouldnt mind getting whatever books or stuff you suggest. Please let me know.

regards

This is really dependent on the individual. You may need to buy books as you get into your prep as you discover specific weaknesses in subject matters (like Sentence Correction, Geometry, etc). What you have now though is a great starting point.

Hi Eric, thanks for the suggestions mate.So these are the final set of books i am planing to base my entire prep upon -OG 13th ed,Og quant and Verbal reviews,Critical reasoning bible(im having a very hard time in finding one,its not available in the place where i stay),Mgmat sentence correction and kaplan 800.Let me know if i missed out on any.Eric you suggested in your earlier posts to prepare flash cards,i have found downlodable flash cards in this site. Will they be enough or i need to prepare my own ones?I have downloaded the sentence correction notes by sahil and spidy which u had suggested in your very initial posts. If you have any such notes for CR and RC please post the links.

The flashcards you've downloaded are great, but it's a good practice to create your own flashcards too. If you come across a concept that you think you need to review--write it down on a note card and review it on a daily basis. It's a great strategy.

Great post. I always feel like a loser when I take Kaplan's CAT tests, but the more times I take it, the more I improve. On top of that, Kaplan's tests make GMAT Prep's practice questions look easy. I will work on more practice tests from various resources and delve more into the official guide as I am currently coming upon my last 3-4 weeks of test prep. Fingers crossed!

Anyone find Manhattan's GMAT Prep stuff any help? My main focus is improving my Quant before test day.
