670 GMAT - RETAKE??
Thank you to everyone for your help. I took the test today and ended up with a 700, split between a 48Q/37V. While my verbal score went down, it's a much more balanced score, and doesn't show a deficiency in Quant. I ended up just doing practice problems for the past two weeks.

Hi Rob.
Great. Retaking worked out. That it would seemed pretty obvious.
Too bad about the verbal score, but whatever, that quant score is a whole different thing from the one you posted before and the higher overall score is a nice enhancement to your applications.
Glad about your success.

Hi rob10989,
That's fantastic news! A 700/Q48 is an outstanding score (right around the 90th percentile overall) and the Q48 is a considerable improvement over the prior Q40. You didn't mention it earlier, but what Schools are you planning to apply to (and when are you planning to apply?)?

Nicely done. And an important lesson here for anyone else perusing this thread. If your score on the official exam falls well outside the range of scores you'd been hitting on your last few practice tests, the probability is extremely high that you can take the test again a few weeks later and receive a score more in line with those practice tests.rob10989 wrote:Thank you to everyone for your help. Rich,
I am applying to business school starting in September (first round) and then second round, depending on what happens with the first round. My plan is to apply to 4-6 schools in the first round (Wharton, Duke, UNC, UVA, UT Austin, Emory is my current short list), and then 2-3 second round.
Best,
Robert

Hi Robert,
You've named some competitive Schools, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
