650 to 720 Post Thu Feb 02, 2012 10:59 am
i appeared for Gmat on 25th january and scored 720(q49,v40),AWA 5.5.This was my second attempt,I scored 650 in my first attempt(q49,v29),AWA 6.

I believe the Manhattan Sentence Correction book was The Factor in improving my score.Took the 5/6 tests that come along with the book purchase + 2 gmat prep mocks.

Following are my scores

manhattan1--680
manhattan2--780(I was in the seventh heaven after this Smile)
manhattan3--760
manhattan4--720
manhattan5--710
gmatprep1--720
gmatprep2--750

Although,I was expecting a 50/51 in quant but the verbal score covered up for that.
Not much to say about my preparation. The most important part, according to me,is consistency.Even after 12 grueling hours @ office I always sneaked 2 hours for Gmat study.

P.S. -->> Please forgive me for the grammar. Smile

Congrats on your great score !!! That was an awesome improvement on the verbal part. How did you improve from V29 to V40 ? Can you be a bit more elaborate on that part ?

Hi Sam,

The Verbal was always troublesome for me..But it got compounded with the fact that I didnot sleep well for the 1st attempt Smile As described in my 1st post, the credit goes to Manhattan SC book .The sentence correction part was the most scary thing for me in my 1st attempt, but it along with the CR became my strongest point in the second attempt.By applying proper rules,I not only increased my accuracy but also got more time for the RCs.Moreover ,I believe that practice is the key here..The more u ll practice the more you will start to recognize the patterns...
Thats it man.I also subscribed for Grockit and used it as "facebook".I used that in free time(@ office Wink) and also at times when I didnot feel like studying. So in totality,I was just thinking GMAT 24*7..and that helped Smile

Thanks

Thanks

Hi 1947...For my case it was pretty close..My prediction was 730..however I believe that the prediction can be significantly exaggerated as the questions get repeated after some time...So donot rely too much on that prediction...Gmat Prep Tests are the closest to the Real Thing..

Hi Suchit you also got a consistent q49 in your quant, which is quite good, ...how did you study for the quant part....any tips.

Did u find grockit relevant for quant also?, or helps mostly with verbal.

Thnks

hi kaps..don't feel that I am arrogant..But for me this 49 was much below my expectation Smile ...I was thinking of getting atleast a 50 if not 51...Didnot really study for quant...it was just the mock tests..and OG 12..thats is
