The question can be rephrased: Is x odd?

Statement 1: x = -1 or x = 5. Either way, x is odd. Sufficient.

Statement 2: x = 1 or 3 or 5 or 7 or 15 or 21 or 35 or 105. Whatever way, x is odd. Sufficient.

Answer is D.
