What exactly is required of a reference? It is not clear from the application process. I'd like to let them know what is expected in terms of time commitment, etc.

The references can be professional peers, or anyone that can speak to your character or work. We will only contact these folks in cases where we flag some discrepancy in your application.

Just let your references know that they may or may not receive a phone call and e-mail during the course of our scholarship review. No more than a few minutes commitment.

I hope that answers your question!

In Other Information column in the 2008 Scholarship page, it is listed that 'There is an attendance requirement for ManhattanGMAT courses—all winners must attend at least 7/9 courses'. But it's not clear whether it's an online course or in-person course. Can you give details on that?

Good question--this rule applies to both online and in-person courses. Thanks for asking, I hope you apply!
