2 weeks to Improve Quant Score? Post Sun Apr 24, 2011 5:20 pm
Hi All,

As a bit of background...I've been studying for a couple of months now with the MGMAT materials, and have finished an initial review of all of the books, and the baseline OG problems that are noted to complete in the book.

I've also completed 5 practice tests:
MGMAT Q43/V37 - 660
MGMAT Q44/V36 - 660
MGMAT Q43/V36 - 650
MGMAT CAT Q40/V35 - 620
GMATPrep - Q42/V42 - 690

I have a couple of weeks left before my exam, and I would like to focus on increasing my quant score, and hopefully break into the 700 range. Any suggestions on the best approach, and materials to study? I have yet to complete any problems from the OG Math Supplement, or the MGMAT question banks, would those be useful tools?

Any suggestions from the BTG community would be greatly appreciated!

All OG / MGMAT tools are useful, always.

With two weeks to go, dont put too much pressure on yourself. Do you know what ares of quant you are weak in and strong in?

Wherever there is scope for improvement, you should go for it. Also, everyday, it will be beneficial to solve the math questions posted on BTG. They are very good. challenges you just like in the exam.

BTG practice questions are also an option. Consider it?

vineeshp, thank you for the reply.

Strongest in Geometry and FDPs. Weakest in Number Properties (divisibility and positive/negative) and Word Translations (Combinatorics and Non-Standard problems). I also am very weak at the 700-800 level Data Sufficiency questions across all topics.

I am currently reviewing the MGMAT study guide for Num. Prop and WT, and re-doing the OG12 problems for these. It is really the 700-800 level questions that I am really having difficulty with now.

I will continue to look at BTG for additional questions to solve. I think I will look to do the list of 300 quant questions next.
