C:Between 20 and 30
D:Between 30 and 40

If all the money that she saved last year was from her take home pay, what fraction of her take home pay did save each month.

For Q 1, please search the forums, you'll find recent posts.

For Q2 : here is what i think.

let x is the fration alice saved everymonth
means she spent 1-x everymonth

Now as per question stem :
Amount of money she saved in a year = 12*x
3 times the monthly money she did not save = 3*(1-x)

12*x = 3*(1-x)
9x=3
x=1/3

Like I told on the other thread, start a separate thread (one question per thread) for each question.

Durgesh, while I think your concept was correct, you did not execute the arithmetic properly.

Second line should read: 15x=3. That gives you an answer of x = 1/5, which is D.

P.S. I make mistakes like this all the time. It's one of those, "Ugh" moments, for me.
